Level the Field is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to supporting children through soccer. Our program is based on bridging communities through soccer via after school mentoring programs, soccer travel experiences, and peer or player support.
Level the Field was initially founded as Soccer Charities of CT in 2017 by Jim Reilly and Chris Sutter with a group of current and former soccer parents. In 2020, Level the Field was formed to expand their reach and vision. We believe that too many kids are losing out on opportunities due to a lack of exposure, a lack of resources and a lack of financial support.
As part of our expansion, we formed a Youth Advisory Board, to engage interested communities in after school soccer clinics, mentoring programs and communal fellowship. Level the Field believes in the importance of involving passionate players as role models, to encourage the development of future players.
Our mission is to bridge communities through the sport of soccer by providing children with opportunities and the ability to develop self esteem, friendships, and teamwork. Soccer unites people and offers a chance to support each other and strive towards a common goal, regardless of economic background or gender. We believe we can help Level the Field.
Our programs aim to encourage a sense of volunteerism in the college and high school players acting as role models for other young players.
We seek to fill the financial gap and provide players with the chance to participate through grants. We also hope to bridge communities, allowing for connections which develop friendships, leadership and self esteem. Soccer is a shared interest which unites those from different socio-economic backgrounds, different life experiences and different perspectives.
HOW TO HELP
It is only through the support of individual donors and corporate donors that Level the Field will be able to succeed and meet the needs of the collective community and individual young players.
